Description
This is a remix of the great model by ghostolo90 on Thingverse. Instead of using a visor clip in my Kia I have it mounted it in the instrument cluster. I made the clip taller along the Z axis and also added some reinforced the Z wall as well. The screw threads were removed during the slicing so their aspect ratio would be preserved during the scaling, and then readded afterwards.
As the nut tightens around the threads/teeth it actually holds the mic in place without shifting/turning from the cord.
I have been using it for a few days now and it looks to be holding well.
I printed with PETG because it has a little more flex and a little more strength than PLA, but I would think anything would work
To preserve the teeth I recommend printing in the upright position with supports. The pic with paint on supports shows that you do NOT need support on the rear curve, or the teeth themselves, just the inside part of the clip. Using Snug supports will be cleaner than grid and use less support material
