Description
This turbo extracts hot air from the rear of the case with a fan. The hot air is turning a turbine that powers a fan that takes cold air from the front of your computer and blows it into the case. 3D render shown on top of a Coolermaster masterframe 600.
Print with whatever colors you want, but the turbine and impeller would be best to print in a contrasting or bright color to highlight its function.
This model needs some extra hardware. Two bearings 15*10*4 for the rotor. The previous model used a bigger bearing that had to much friction. It also needs an 80mm case fan, preferably a pressure optimized model since it needs to both pull air through the intake manifold and push it through the turbine. The fan need 4x M4*40 screws and 4x M4 Nuts to hold the parts together.
Disclaimer: This is mostly a gimmick, It does have similar parts as a real turbo, but it is not powered by combustion and probably won't be more effective than just a fan.
Assembly:
-
Push the bearings into each side of the central hub of the turbine case.
-
Push the rotor shaft through the bearings with the turbine blades inside the case.
-
Press the turbo case onto the conical connector on the front of the turbine case.
-
Press on the impeller on the turbine shaft. Make sure the rotor spins freely, adjust bearings if needed.
-
Line up the manifold, fan and turbine case and push in the screws and join them to the nuts.
-
The grate should sit in a groove on the inside of the intake, you have to bend the grate a little bit.
-
Mount the intake on the turbo, start in a counterclockwise position, push it in and turn it clockwise.
