Description
WARNING! THIS BLASTER UTILIZES COMPONENTS AND WIRING THAT IS MORE ADVANCED THAN A TYPICAL BRUSHED BLASTER BUILD. BY PROCEEDING WITH THIS BUILD, THE END USER ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENSURING PROPER FUNCTION AND OPERATION OF THIS PRODUCT. I CANNOT GUARANTEE CUSTOMER SUPPORT IF YOUR BUILD DOES NOT WORK!
Introducing the Amoeba, a brushless foam dart blaster over a year and a half in the making. The Amoeba is my brainchild, with every aspect of the blaster designed around how I personally play, but much time was spent making this a product that is simple for others to build and enjoy. Most components have variations, whether it be an adjustment for printer tolerances or an alternate version for different user preferences. Key components and features are as follows:
-
Controlled by Arduino Nano, Arduino Nano ESP32, or KellyIndustries' “Dettlaff”
-
Actuated by Eli Wu's “Neutron” Solenoid
-
Powered by KellyIndustries' “PlusMotors” 2200kv Brushless Motors
-
Propelled by Kuryaka's “PlusDaybreak" or Jougheaux's “JPEG” Flywheels
-
Fed by Tattu's 4s 1050mah “Momentum” Batteries
-
Splittable Upper/Lower if XT30 & MT30 connectors installed
-
Unique “Key” Trigger system, allowing for different trigger feels, similar to mechanical keyboard switches
-
Top & Bottom limit screws to adjust trigger stroke
-
Simple Wiring, with all wires being centrally routed to the controllers in the tank
-
Velocities up to 200fps in certain configurations
-
“No BS” operation, with no onboard buttons, dials or screens
-
Support for Talon and Koda spec mags, with lowers toleranced for each
-
Option to add picatinny top rail
-
Option to add power switch on grip heel
-
Option to add BCAR dart centering device
-
Option for no rev trigger
-
Option for longer barrel
-
Options for longer tanks
-
Options for 8 different mag release styles

FIRMWARE:
A simple Arduino Nano ESP32 firmware sketch is included, with servo control for the ESC and an option to boot into a lower FPS mode. This firmware is adaptable for standard Arduino Nanos, and code from MeinGonk's GNK-200 (and the subsequent Manatee remix) is also able to be adapted for use with the Amoeba.
BUILD NOTES:
Apply Loctite Blue to solenoid nut and any screws that thread into motors or solenoid.
Start with your cage assembly, and simultaneously install your flywheels and dart guide.
Fasten PL-120 to PL-123 before inserting your solenoid into PL-120, making sure phase wires do not get pinched.

SERIALIZATION & PRODUCT SUPPORT:
Please note that I CANNOT GUARANTEE product support for the Amoeba. I have tried my best to document and make it easy to build, but I am employed full time and usually don't have the energy to help strangers on the internet. If you want to get your frame serialized, or have any questions, please DM me on Discord at @foreohfour.
CHANGELOG:
3/6/25 (V1.2)
- Updated PL-110 Frames and PL-140 Tank Regulator to have a larger wire channel for easier wiring with quick disconnects.
1/4/25 (V1.1)
- Added 5 Degree Linear and 0 Degree Linear BCARs, denoted legacy BCAR as 10 Degree Progressive, and added “UP” indicator on barrel mount.
- Added New “Compatibility Tilt” cage option for Daybreak setups, allowing the cage with the metal plate insert to be printed at 45 degrees for better tolerancing and easier wiring.
CREDITS:
I'd like to thank everyone who participated in the closed beta run for this blaster to make sure that upon release, it could be the absolute best product offering. I'd like to offer a special thanks to the following for their help in development:
- DPAirsoft for their continual beta feedback
- Will (Beef Squad) for their beta feedback, firmware, and help with wheel geometry
- KellyIndustries for their storefront for (mostly) accessible brushless products
