Description

NOTE: These are NOT compatible with the original models.

This remix tries to take the original stackable travel pill container and address a couple of it's shortcomings that I ran into.  It was also a great excuse to improve my Fusion 360 skills.

  • The lid wouldn't screw on fully closed
  • The exterior grooves wouldn't align easily
  • I really wanted a secure “snap” fit instead of just pressure (plus this helps align the grooves).
  • The walls were too thick IMO and lost lots of internal volume.
  • The threads use a 45 degree angle for an easier print.

Not much to these … there's a base, a cap, and a middle (which is essentially a cap + base).

Each of the pieces are threaded and should “snap” closed with all of the external grooves aligned properly.  It uses an internal spring mechanism for the final clasp.

The different sizes are the approximate internal storage height of the container.   I've also included middle-open models without the internal divider, so you could make a single container as long as you need.

I'll add more photos of the real pieces once I get some “final” versions printed.

Printing

  • I’ve used PETG and PLA (rainbow silk) and they both work equally well.
  • 0.40mm nozzle
  • 0.20mm layers
  • I used 3 perimeters
  • Turn OFF detect bridging perimeters - This helps the internal spring break free easier.
  • The middle piece might need supports.  Then again, if you don't mind the look of a 35mm wide bridge and your printer can do it, try without supports.

Once your print is done, you'll need to manually “detach” the spring clip.  You should be able to push it with your fingers to release it.  I suggest working it a bit until it stops making any noise.
