Description

This is a recreation of the steering column cowl from my 1978 MG Midget, which seem to be pretty hard to find these days. The print shown in the pictures is the V1 prototype. The one for download is V2 with some fixes and and some changes for better fitment.

These should also fit ‘68-’75 Midgets, but the factory cowls for those years don't have the auxiliary switch locations under the turn signal & wiper stalks.

You will need (2) #10-32 heat set inserts, which get inserted into the right/ignition half of the cowl. To mount the halves to the steering column, you will need (2) #10-32 x 1" & (2) #10-24 x 1/2" long panhead machine screws.

The (3) locating pins get inserted into their respective locations, as seen in the pictures. I used popsicle stick pieces for prototyping.

There are two versions you can download. One has the accessory switch holes(located below the turn signal/Wiper stalks) closed up and the other has them open.
