Ball and Socket Chonky Link Necklace

A print-in-place necklace made from chonky ball and socket chain links. It jangles. It drapes. It has a nice hexagonal cross section and little windows cut out so you can see all the linkages.

Each one acts as an open loop link, so you could hang charms and other items off of each one for added effect. The links could also fit little images if you flex in a little photo or drawing. Sky's the limit.

Dimensions and Sizing

It prints as a 242mm diameter circle but can be scaled to your print bed if you'd like!

The links are 30mm long and 23mm wide, so the necklace hangs mid-sternum-ish. See pic :)

Printing Notes

I printed on a Bambu X1 Carbon in black PLA with no supports and it worked out great!

Run time just a bit over an hour.

You can break into pieces in slicer and set the color for the links depending on your printer. Could maybe get fancy with some gradient filament and have the top and bottom be different too! So many options.
