Doom Keycard Badge Holder Daily Use Remix

This is a remix of the “Doom Keycard remix (smaller daily use version)” by Ractuscactus on Thingiverse.

I was in need of a new badge holder and decided to go game themed and came across a Doom Inspired one I really liked although when I went to personalize it I noticed it had some issues that needed to be addressed before I could customize it, let alone try to print it. I cleaned up the files as best I could and it prints great! There is one issue you will see in the pictures where there are some rouge strands of filament, this is due to the fact I forgot to add supports to the two rails that hold the badge in place so they printed free of supports which, it did a pretty good job for not having support!

Last thing of note, unlike the images, there is no text on the uploaded files. This is intentional! I personalized mine and incorporated my initials and such into the design and I figured the person downloading this wouldn't want their badge holder branded with my initials and memery so I cleaned all the text away to make it a clean slate for anyone who wishes to put their own spin on it.

Update: 11-08-2023 Reworked the center post of the UAC part on the Back Plate.

I noticed the hole on the UAC accent piece didn't quite line up with the post on the Back Plate when I test fit these. Looking at both parts in Fusion, the post on the Back Plate was oblong and slightly bigger than the hole in the Accent piece which was a circle. I reworked the post on the badge side to be both a circle and theoretically fit better as I made it slightly taller than the original and lessened the dimeter to account for printing tolerances. All backplate files have been updated to reflect these changes.

Print Instructions

0.1mm - 0.2mm layer height depending on desired finish (I printed mine at 0.1mm)

10% Infill (Support Cubic is what I set mine to)

PLA

Supports recommended for the rails on the Front Plate but you do you.

Optional Settings:

Brim with a Brim Width of 2mm. Probably not really required but I printed mine with one due to it getting colder and the temps fluctuating, I didn't want those small points to pull up.

First Layer Speed reduced to 16mm/s for the fine points mentioned above.

Assembly

This badge holder comes in three parts that need to be glued together.

• The Front Plate
• Back Plate
• UAC Symbol.

The UAC symbol is separate so that it is easier to paint should you choose to paint it a different color to the body.
