XL Wet Palette

Just a simple large wet palette. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Just kidding, otherwise, I wouldn't have posted it.

Was trying to find ways to limit some of the expenses with miniature painting and decided to DIY a wet palette. I bought these cellulose sponges from Amazon and didn't want to cut them down. I like to have more space than I may or may not need.

Simple design with some chamfers and fillets to keep the footprint down as much as I could for an “XL” palette. Also tried to keep the edges smoother. The palette and paper holder have openings for 5mm x 3mm magnets. The paper holder has little half-oval cut-outs so that water can be added without removing it using a pipette or steady hand if you are brave.

The palette measures 230mm x 230mm so it may not fit on all build plates. One of the photos is the palette on top of a standard sheet of printer paper for size reference.

Printing Suggestions:

I used PLA but other materials would be fine if you wanted to use them for some reason. I used 0.16 layer height so it would be smoother and made sure to have 1.0+ mm top/bottom for smooth surfaces.
