Description

I've done it, everyone! I've reinvented the wheel!

But seriously, this is just a simple model with a straight-forward design that seems to work well for my purposes, even if it's something I could have downloaded from dozens of pre-existing creations, or purchased a manufactured product.

The external dimensions, when assembled, are 159mm long, 83mm wide (counting the latches, 75mm for just the box) and 30mm high (counting the lids, 25mm for just the box). The internal dimensions for each of the ten compartments is 30mm wide, 33mm long and 23.5mm deep.

The lids are identical, so there's no mixing them up. The design intends for a piece of 1.75mm filament to be pushed through the pivot holes to act as the hinge pin, and although it did take some effort and pushing small increments at a time with a pair of pliers, it went ok. I had better luck flipping it lid-side down on a flat surface so the pin holes lined up on the Z-axis a little more reliably and I could focus on making sure the Y-axis was also aligned (or X-axis, depending on your approach). Hopefully this makes sense. The lids snap securely closed, yet open up easily enough.
