While looking for an alternative to Polymakers Filament containers I stumbled across 3d Jake's vaccum bags for long term reduced air storage.

While this concept is very cheap and easy to use I quickly discovered the problem with the build-in valve being stuck closed because the opposing side of the bag would clog the valve shut. I managed to evacuate some bags when the valve would be on top of the actual filament giving it a rough surface where air would be able to flow out of the bag, however this is far from being ideal.

I have designed a spacer with a small air channel which i can easily navigate between the two bag sides under the valve and then still be able to apply the necessary downward force with the pump while being able to suck air out of the bag. In fact it was so easy that I initially thought the pump would not sit correctly and I would be sucking air from the surrounding.

Make out of ASA but any material down to PLA is fine.
