A quite demanding project & print - a 1:12 dollhouse paravent with vienna weave.

The main difficulty was to convince the printer to do what I wanted … when modeling the weave pattern and trying to slice it as one the printer started by outlinig the holes - veeery prone to failure plus destroying the appearance.

It took many tries and errors to finally arrive at the solution: The weave pattern has to be printed in every direction as one model, the next needs to be printed right on top with exactly the same print settings (except bed levelilng, purge line etc - absolutely needs to be turned off before printing anything but the first weave layer!).

This way the printer actiually prints lines and the result is … stunning!

How to print:

Weave: every direction as one model, every direction goes on top of each other, the “frame” is printed last, on top of horizontal/vertical/diagonalA/diagonalB. Finally cut along the outside of the frame to get the final piece.

Elements: print separately, all three may be printed in one go (combine and orient in the slicer as wanted).

Final model needs assembly, drops of super glue will do just nicely to holt the weave bits in the elements. Element hinges are snap fit and can be moved and adjusted as needed.

For the model in the photos only upper and middle frames were used.
