Description

These are adjustable Yagi antenna element holders specifically designed for DIY antenna builders. They are optimized for a 10x10 mm square boom and 6 mm element tubes.

The main advantage of this design is that the holders allow sliding along the boom, which is essential for fine-tuning the antenna to achieve the best possible SWR (Standing Wave Ratio). This makes it a perfect tool for prototyping or field-testing new antenna designs.

Specifications

  • Boom size: 10x10 mm (square profile)

  • Element diameter: 6 mm (tubes or rods)

  • Adjustability: Full sliding capability for precise element spacing.

  • Material: PETG is highly recommended. > Why? Antennas are usually exposed to direct sunlight and varying weather conditions. PLA will soften and deform under UV rays and heat. PETG provides the necessary UV resistance and mechanical durability for outdoor use.

  • Infill: 25% or higher (Grid or Gyroid) for better structural integrity.

  • Wall Loops: At least 3 walls to ensure the clamping tension doesn't crack the part.

  • Supports: Not required (designed for easy 3D printing).

Assembly Tips

  • If the fit is too tight on the boom, a light sanding of the internal surfaces will ensure smooth sliding.

  • For permanent installation after finding the optimal SWR, you can use a small drop of glue or drill a small hole through the holder for a locking screw.
