VW Fox 165mm Speaker Adapter - Slim Remix (16mm)

This is a low-profile remix of the speaker adapter originally designed for the VW Passat 3BG. I have shortened the original 40mm height down to 16mm specifically for the VW Fox, where door card clearance is much tighter.

⚠ IMPORTANT: Hardware & Assembly

This remix departs significantly from the original author’s mounting method. To use this version, you will need:

• M3 Press-Fit Heat Stakes/Inserts: Unlike the original model, this version is designed for M3 inserts to secure the speaker to the ring.

• M5 Screws: Used for mounting the adapter ring itself to the door frame.

• Check Depth: At 16mm tall, please verify your speaker’s mounting depth to ensure the magnet doesn't hit the window glass or door structure.

🛠 Fully Customizable (STEP File Included)

I have provided the STEP file and a Link to the Design so you can modify the parameters to suit your specific needs.

If you prefer different hardware—for example, changing the M3 insert holes to M5 or adjusting the flange diameter—you can easily do so in the CAD source.

Features

• Fox-Specific Fit: Shortened profile to prevent the speaker surround from hitting the door panel.

• Standard 165mm (6.5") Support: Fits most common aftermarket car speakers.

Print Settings

• Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS. (Do not use PLA; it will melt in a hot car).

• Walls/Perimeters: 4+ perimeters for a solid "meat" around the press-fit inserts.

• Infill: 25% (Gyroid is best for vibration damping).

• Supports: Not required.
